With a crucial match against Osasuna on Saturday, Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti is facing a challenging future at Real Madrid. Several potential outcomes are already emerging.
Real Madrid’s patience with Carlo Ancelotti is starting to diminish.
As if the thrashing suffered at the Santiago Bernabéu against FC Barcelona (0-4) was not enough, the Chamartín side fell again at their own stadium in the Champions League last Tuesday. This time it was AC Milan who took the three points.
Beyond the disappointing results, the current European champions are not showing many positive signs on the field.
Their style of play has become predictable, the younger players seem overlooked, and star signing Kylian Mbappé appears to be a mere shadow of the player who once dazzled at Paris Saint Germain.
Speculations Surround Ancelotti Future
According to Mundo Deportivo, the rumors surrounding the Italian’s potential departure are increasing, with several names being floated as possible replacements.
Currently, there are a few coaches being considered by the club’s higher-ups for this very reason.
Three of the options are internal candidates: Santiago Solari, the club’s current director of football.
Raúl, who manages Castilla and Álvaro Arbeloa, the youth team coach.
Another name that frequently comes up is Zinedine Zidane, who is always mentioned in these discussions, along with Jürgen Klopp, although a move for the German seems unlikely given his recent commitment to the Red Bull structure.
Lastly, the frontrunner appears to be Xabi Alonso from Tolosa, but any potential move would likely have to wait until the end of the season, as parting ways with Bayer Leverkusen mid-season seems highly improbable.
