Christopher Nkunku’s agent, the well-known Pini Zahavi, has reached out to FC Barcelona to propose his client’s services, as Nkunku is dissatisfied with his current role at Chelsea.

Currently sitting in a secondary position in Enzo Maresca’s plans, Nkunku is keen to leave Chelsea during the upcoming winter transfer window.

This season, the French striker has played in 25 official matches but has only been a starter in two Premier League games.

Christopher Nkunku’s Frustration at Chelsea

Nkunku’s lack of playing time at Chelsea has caused him considerable frustration. Despite being a player of high caliber, he has found it difficult to earn a consistent starting spot under Maresca.

Since joining Chelsea in the summer of 2023, the Frenchman has made 39 official appearances, netting 15 goals and providing four assists. However, injuries have also hindered his development at the club.

Pini Zahavi, eager to find a resolution for his client, has offered Christopher Nkunku’s services to FC Barcelona.

The Catalan club is in search of an attacker who can play on the left side, and while Raphinha has adapted well to this position, Barcelona would be open to adding a new specialist.

Zahavi’s proactive strategy aims to secure a transfer that benefits both Christopher Nkunku and the interested clubs.

Financial Challenges for Barcelona

Although Nkunku is willing to adjust his salary to fit Barcelona’s challenging financial situation, his transfer remains complex.

According to Sport, Barcelona has limited funds for January transfers, meaning they could only consider Nkunku’s arrival on a loan basis.

While the Frenchman is amenable to this option, the club’s financial limitations pose a significant obstacle.

As we look ahead to the summer, Nkunku’s name may still be in the mix for a potential transfer. By that time, Barcelona’s financial situation could have improved, enabling them to explore more appealing options. For now, the club needs to manage its economic hurdles and be strategic with its spending.
