Determined to improve their attacking performances, Arsenal have set their sights on Bryan Mbeumo, a versatile attacker who plays for Brentford.
The 25-year-old Cameroonian is very much in Mikel Arteta’s favour.
With eight goals in just 10 competitive matches, Mbeumo has quickly become one of Brentford’s key players, contributing to a strong start to the season.
After nine games, the Bees sit in ninth place in the Premier League, only three points shy of sixth.
As is often the case, his impressive performances have attracted attention.
Alongside interest from Liverpool and Aston Villa, Arsenal has now entered the race, looking to bolster their offensive lineup.
Arteta is particularly concerned about the lack of depth in his squad and sees Bryan Mbeumo as a valuable addition.
Arsenal Eyeing Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo for Squad Depth
“I’ve heard that Arsenal have been considering it. I see that move as a possibility.
They’ve done deals like this in the past when they signed Trossard, for example, who came in and benefited their squad.
He’s done fantastically well for Brentford, not just this season, but over a long period. With the injury problems that Saka has had, it’s shown that they need depth in that area.
Mbeumo could provide that, but they also like the fact that he can play in a front three and provide cover behind the striker as well,” former Tottenham and Manchester United scout Mick Brown confirmed to Football Insider.
Bryan Mbeumo is under contract until June 2026, making negotiations with Brentford challenging.
The club has previously indicated to interested parties that they would only consider selling him for a significant fee. This situation is worth keeping an eye on.
