At FC Barcelona they have decided to continue planning for the future during this time and for that reason they have already made moves to resolve the situation of three players who could end up being important in the not-too-distant future.
The club will continue to face challenges in the coming months as they work to resolve the delicate economic situation that has persisted since the pandemic, a situation that has been exacerbated by previous decisions made during Joan Laporta’s first term.
Nevertheless, the Catalans are optimistic about a promising generation of players emerging from their youth system. As reported this Thursday in Mundo Deportivo, they have already initiated contract renewals for three of these players.
Four contract renewals in progress Left-back Gerard Martín (22 years old) and midfielders Pau Prim (18) and Unai Hernández (19) are set to be out of contract at the end of the season.
The Catalans hope to take advantage of this circumstance to extend their contracts as soon as possible, especially since some of these players are in first-team dynamics with Hansi Flick.
The fourth renewal that is causing concern is that of Frenkie De Jong. According to the newspaper Sport, the Catalans aim to have discussions with the midfielder underway by the end of the year, as they want to ensure that negotiations are on track before the start of 2025.
