Barcelona Nike Deal: FC Barcelona receives good news of €140M!

The Catalan team is on the verge of securing a significant new deal worth €140 million, which could substantially alleviate many of the issues they faced last summer. A new and eagerly anticipated opportunity is on the horizon, with a date already being discussed.

FC Barcelona opted to wait until the winter transfer window to activate the well-known 1:1 rule, as Andreas Christensen’s injury opened the door for them to sign Dani Olmo and Pau Victor. However, they understand that this situation is only temporary, lasting until December 31, after which they will face a different set of circumstances.

Joan Laporta’s priority has been to restore financial normality and that involved the long-awaited agreement with Nike.

According to Marca, this deal is set to be finalized and announced within the month, with the General Assembly on October 19 seen as the ideal time for this announcement.

Barcelona’s New €140 Million Annual Sponsorship Deal: A Path to Financial Stability
This new sponsorship agreement entails a ten-year partnership, bringing in new revenue for the Catalan club amounting to €140 million each year. Currently, negotiations are underway regarding a signing bonus that could provide the club with an immediate influx of €150 million.

This would allow them to revert to the 1:1 rule, with the agreement becoming effective at €125 million per year. The initial income of €150 million would cover the projected losses of €91 million from the previous year, marking a significant step towards financial normality.
