The Canadian is the first option that FC Barcelona is considering among the scorers whose contracts end in 2025. But there are other interesting alternatives on the market, some of them are former Real Madrid or Atlético de Madrid players.
The newspaper Sport has reviewed the forwards whose contracts expire in 2025 and there are great options. F C Barcelona will look at this route to strengthen its forward line because the financial problems continue, although of all these scorers who will be free if they do not renew, several are already ruled out due to age.
Cristiano Ronaldo (39), Olivier Giroud and Edin Dzeko (38), along with Iago Aspas (37), are not on the Catalans’ radar for obvious reasons. Jonathan David, the standout forward from Lille, remains the top candidate, as he aims to join a top-tier team when his contract expires in 2025.
Five more names
The Catalan club is actively exploring more alternatives for their forward line, recognizing the competitive nature of acquiring a goal scorer. Consequently, five more names have emerged as potential targets, all of whom could be signed at no cost and possess proven track records.
These include Serbian Luka Jovic (26, AC Milan), Frenchman Moussa Dembélé (28, Al Ittifaq), fellow Frenchman Alexandre Lacazette (33, Olympique Lyon), Mexican Raúl Jiménez (33, Fulham), and Croatian Andrej Kramaric (33, Hoffenheim).
