FC Barcelona scouts are keeping a close eye on Luiz Henrique, the left-footed winger who is making waves with Botafogo after his time at Real Betis.

The Brazilian talent was already on the Catalans’ radar, and his price appears to be within reach.

The 23-year-old Brazilian wrapped up his stint at Betis after just a year and a half, moving to Botafogo and leaving €16 million in the Andalusian club’s accounts—€6 million more than what they initially paid for him.

Despite playing 64 matches and netting four goals along with 10 assists, Luiz Henrique left feeling he hadn’t fully showcased his abilities in La Liga.

In less than a year with the Rio de Janeiro side, he has already surpassed those numbers, scoring 12 goals and providing six assists in 52 official games.

FC Barcelona Renews Interest in Luiz Henrique

His impressive development has drawn the attention of FC Barcelona, a club that had previously considered signing him.

According to Sport, before he joined Heliópolis, the Catalans looked into bringing him on board but ultimately chose his fellow countryman Raphinha instead.

Now, the player from Petrópolis is back on Barça’s radar. While he typically plays on the right wing, currently held by the indispensable Lamine Yamal, the club believes that the young talent from the youth academy will eventually transition to a more central role.

Therefore, having another specialist in that position could prove advantageous.

“Although the main focus is to bring in two full-backs and a left winger when possible, the club hasn’t overlooked the right winger position.

Luiz Henrique is one of the players who fits the profile and comes at an affordable price,” the newspaper concludes.

Playing Style and Potential Impact

Luiz Henrique is known for his agility, technical skills, and ability to cut inside from the wing to create scoring opportunities.

His versatility makes him a valuable asset for any team. Should FC Barcelona secure his transfer, Henrique could provide much-needed depth and competition on the flanks, potentially allowing the team to rotate more effectively and maintain high performance levels across all competitions.

Meanwhile, for Botafogo, the potential departure of Luiz Henrique would undoubtedly be a significant loss.

However, the financial gain from his transfer could enable the club to reinvest in new talents and further strengthen their squad.
