Following the heavy defeat to AC Milan in the Champions League, there are already whispers questioning Carlo Ancelotti’s future as the manager of Real Madrid.

Names like Zinedine Zidane and, notably, Xabi Alonso are once again surfacing as potential successors.

The Whites were thoroughly outplayed by a Rossoneri side that exploited the glaring weaknesses of a Madrid team that had recently endured a harsh defeat against FC Barcelona (0-4).

As anticipated, the media is eager to assign blame today. The newspaper Sport is particularly vocal about it.

They assert that the primary culprit for the current crisis in both performance and results is none other than the coach, Carlo Ancelotti.

Ancelotti is feeling the pressure after these recent weeks.

He faced defeat in the Clásico at the Bernabéu and was also outclassed at home by Milan, presenting an image of being completely lost in terms of team direction.

While his legacy is unquestionable, it appears this team desperately needs a fresh impetus” they state.

Criticisms Against Carlo Ancelotti

The publication criticizes the Italian for failing to implement his strategies effectively, for not providing playing time to talents like Endrick or Arda Güler.

Secondly, for “confusing” Jude Bellingham with constant positional changes and for not maximizing the potential of his star signing, Kylian Mbappe.

It also alludes to the discomfort shown by Fede Valverde’s wife, who criticised her husband’s change on social media, or the fact that some footballers, especially the Frenchman Aurélien Tchouaméni, are not up to par.

While it appears that the Real Madrid board isn’t planning any major changes in the immediate future, the newspaper is already suggesting potential replacements for Carlo Ancelotti.

It mentions Zinedine Zidane and Santiago Solari as possible interim options, but emphasizes that the club’s top choice is none other than Xabi Alonso from Bayer Leverkusen.
