While the Portuguese has now scored a total of 39 hat-tricks after his time at Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus, the Argentine has done the same on 36 occasions, all with FC Barcelona.

With a top-level goalscorer like Robert Lewandowski just a long way behind him, there is no doubt that this milestone is unlikely to be surpassed in the short term.
