Zinedine Zidane, often mentioned as a potential replacement for Carlo Ancelotti, has no plans to return to Real Madrid.

The former player and coach from Marseille is still hoping for an opportunity with the French national team.

Real Madrid’s current struggles on the field and in terms of results have prompted many media outlets to speculate about Ancelotti’s future.

Some have even started discussing possible successors.

One name that has come up is Zinedine Zidane. The 52-year-old has been without a club since leaving Real Madrid in June 2021, after his second stint with the team.

Although several clubs have shown interest in him since then, none have successfully convinced him to take the plunge.

Zidane Eyes French National Team, Declines Madrid Role

According to Mundo Deportivo, if the situation arises, Zidane is unlikely to accept an offer from Real Madrid.

The report states, “Right now Zidane is not considering accepting an offer from the white team in the event of a hypothetical dismissal of Carlo Ancelotti.

And that’s despite the fact that the French coach already has good relations with the president Florentino Pérez.

Zidane appears to be focused on the possibility of managing the French national team and is not looking to commit to any club at this time.

However, he will need to wait, as the current coach, Didier Deschamps, is under contract until after the 2026 World Cup.
